One of the last Edwardian country houses
to be built in Yorkshire prior to the Great War, Sion Hill sits in open
countryside, surrounded by charming gardens and parkland.

The house is of outstanding architectural merit, having been designed in 1913 by the renowned architect Walter H. Brierley of York, who was known as 'the Lutyens of the North'.
The collection of fine antiques and works of art was formed by Herbert W. Mawer Esq. from the 1930's onwards.Today, the tradition of collecting continues, with new acquisitions made by Michael Mallaby Esq. who now lives at Sion.
